Glasgow Students, Things To Do Part I
The Lighthouse
See the city from above at The Lighthouse. Entry to this stunning viewpoint doesn’t cost a thing! The Lighthouse was designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and was the home of the Glasgow Herald newspaper for around 100 years. Today, it is Scotland’s Centre for Design and Architecture, with a permanent Mackintosh exhibition. The spiral staircase within the tower is a statement feature of the museum, and highly Instagram worthy. Located on Mitchell Lane, right in the centre of town, it is so easy to find.
Botanic Gardens
This is one of my absolute favourite spots in Glasgow. Located on Great Western Road it is minutes away from subway stations and an ideal thing to do on a lovely day. However, if the Glasgow weather doesn’t hold up (and let's be honest it won’t) you can take shelter in the glasshouses that are beautiful to have a wander around and take some snaps!
Pollok Country Park
A haven just on the outskirts of the city is an Edwardian gem - Pollok House. With the beautiful house and garden and lovely riverside routes for walks, it really is a beautiful place to visit if you are fed up of being in the city! It doesn’t feel like you are just a few miles out of the city. If you have a car even better (takes roughly 20 minutes to drive from town) however not to worry if not as you can get the Glasgow central train to Pollock shaws west with a 20 min walk to the park once you have arrived. Home of the collection of Spanish Art, (The Burrel Collection) this is also something impressive to see when you are there. Currently closed for refurbishment but keep it will be sure to be an impressive visit when it is open again.
Colinton Tunnel
Last on my list is Colinton Tunnel, a bit more of a trek from Glasgow (just outside of Edinburgh) but definitely worth your while. Note, this one is handier if you have a car. The abandoned railway tunnel has been transformed with murals has given it a new lease of life. The colourful designs provide great entertainment when walking through the tunnel. An amazing place to get some fun pics too.

Some great ideas and all sound worth visiting.
